The 30th Inter-Pacific Bar Association Annual Meeting and Conference was held in Shanghai from April 19 to 21, 2021. The conference was hosted by Inter-Pacific Bar Association (IPBA), organized by All China Lawyers Association (ACLA) and co-organized by Shanghai Bar Association. It was the fourth time that IPBA held its annual conference in China. TANG Yijun (Minister of Justice), LI Fei (Director Member of National People's Congress Constitution and Law Committee), GONG Zheng (Mayor of Shanghai), and WANG Junfeng (President of the ACLA) attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches respectively; Ban Ki-moon (former Secretary-General of the United Nations, and Chairman of Boao Forum for Asia) gave the speech through video.
The theme of this annual conference is "Changes in World Economic and Trade Rules and Opportunities and Challenges for the Legal Industry", with more than 600 guests and delegates from over 30 countries and regions participating in exchanges and seminars through the "online + offline" approach. The 15 offline parallel forums focused on foreign-related rule of law in the context of "One Belt, One Road", rule of law protection in China's free trade zone, diversified dispute resolution, etc., while 10 online sessions focused on topics such as Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (RCEP), investment in Europe, investment in Latin America, cross-border M&A, international commercial arbitration, investment risk management, intellectual property rights, insolvency, corporate financing and maritime issues.
13 Grandall lawyers attended the conference, 9 of which acted as moderators or delivered speeches in different forums.
